Thank you for your interest in serving in collegiate missions through the BCM Missions program, also known as Light Messengers. The following instructions will help you complete the forms necessary for the application process. Your application cannot be considered until you have completed the application process. It is very important that each question be answered thoroughly and accurately.

*The application deadline for 2010 BCM Summer Missions is February 5th.

1. Review the Qualifications to be a Collegiate Missionary.

2. Review the available positions.

3. Complete the Collegiate Missions Application. Be sure to read and answer all items on the application. Click the “Submit” button when the application is completed.

4. Download and print the reference forms. You are responsible for a total of six references. You must distribute five reference forms to the individuals you select as references. We ask that you include references such as your Pastor, a personal friend, a supervisor/employer, professor, etc. A sixth reference form will be completed by your campus minister. Please arrange a time to meet with your campus minister and disuss your desire to serve in missions.

5. Download and print the Background Check form. If you are under 18 years of age, please download the addendum for parents or legal guardians to sign.

6. When all information has been completed, your application will be reviewed by the Collegiate Missions Selections Committee. You will receive an invitation to attend the BCM Missions Weekend on February 19-20, 2010 at the Tennessee Baptist Convention building in Brentwood to meet with the Missions Committee for interview times and weekend of learning more about missions opportunities. You will receive a packet of info and details about the weekend before coming.

There will be a mandatory orientation weekend for all appointed BCM summer missionaries on April 9-11, 2010 during the BCM Spring Leadership Conference at Linden Valley Baptist Conference Center, Linden. You will receive more information about this after being appointed as a summer missionary.
